About the Role

Are you a cyber security expert with deep roots in the Linux and open-source world? OpenSource Science (OS-SCi) is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Instructor to design and deliver our specialized training programs. This unique role requires a blend of strong technical expertise, a passion for teaching, and a global mindset.

As a study coach at OS-SCi, you will do more than just lecture. You will mentor students and professionals across the Netherlands and India, guiding them through hands-on labs and real-world scenarios. Your mission is to build cyber resilience and promote digital sovereignty by empowering learners with practical, FOSS-centric security skills.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on training in cyber security, Linux administration, and open-source security tools.
  • Design and refine curriculum and course materials to align with the latest industry best practices.
  • Guide learners through complex labs, case studies, and simulations to build practical, job-ready skills.
  • Stay current with the latest trends in open-source security, digital sovereignty, and cyber resilience.
  • Collaborate effectively with our international teams to ensure a consistent and high-quality learning experience.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven, in-depth expertise in Linux-based systems and a wide range of cyber security domains.
  • Strong practical knowledge of open-source security tools (e.g., Nmap, Wireshark, Metasploit, Suricata) and frameworks.
  • Prior experience as a trainer, lecturer, or mentor is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
  • A willingness and ability to travel between our locations in the Netherlands and India as required.
  • Full-time or on a freelance basis.

Bonus Points For:

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, OSCP, Security+, or advanced Linux certifications (RHCE, LPIC).
  • Experience in specialized fields like digital forensics or incident response (DFIR).
  • Active contributions to open-source security projects or communities.
