BOUNTY PAYMENT TERMS
OS-SCi | August 2025
The bounty payment terms belong to OS-SCi, a private limited liability company, incorporated and existing under the laws of The Netherlands, registered in the Dutch trade register under number 88527026, duly represented by E.P. Mols, hereinafter referred to as the ‘OS-SCi’.
OS-SCi operates a digital platform that connects demand and supply in the field of OpenSource software development. Through this platform, specific tasks may be published for which developers can voluntarily submit solutions. Upon successful completion of such a task, a bounty may be awarded to the developer.
This bounty represents a reward for a specific achievement, not a payment for services rendered. OS-SCi acts solely as a facilitator and does not enter into any employment or service relationship with developers. These payout terms clarify the legal, fiscal, and operational framework under which bounties are awarded and accepted via the platform.
By accepting a bounty, the developer agrees to the following terms and conditions.
1. No Employment or Service Agreement
The payout of a bounty via OS-SCi’s platform does not constitute salary, payment for services rendered, nor does it establish an employment relationship or a contract for services as defined under Dutch Civil Law (Book 7, Articles 400 et seq. BW). There is no employer authority, and the developer operates entirely independently, without supervision or instruction from OS-SCi or the sponsor.
These terms are aligned with the General Model Agreement - No Employer Authority as published by the Dutch Tax Authorities*.
2. Nature of the Bounty
A bounty is a specific reward for successfully completing a predefined task. The developer decides independently whether, when, and how to perform the task. There is no obligation to perform the task, and no payout is guaranteed unless the task is demonstrably and satisfactorily completed.
3. Tax Responsibility
The bounty is paid without withholding Dutch wage taxes or other levies, as there is no employment relationship. The developer confirms that they are solely responsible for reporting and paying taxes and social contributions in their country of tax residence. OS-SCi is not involved in any tax handling and bears no responsibility in this regard.
4. No Guarantees or Liability
OS-SCi solely facilitates the platform and is not liable for the content, execution, or quality of the tasks. No rights or guarantees can be derived from the use of the platform or the payout of a bounty.
5. Identification and Bank Account Verification
To comply with applicable laws and regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) obligations, the developer agrees to provide valid identification upon request. OS-SCi reserves the right to verify the identity of the developer before processing any bounty payout.
Furthermore, the developer must ensure that the bank account to which the bounty is paid is registered in their own name. OS-SCi may request supporting documentation (such as a bank statement or account confirmation letter) to verify that the account holder matches the verified identity of the developer.
Failure to comply with these verification requirements may result in the withholding or cancellation of the bounty payout.
6. Integrity Declaration
The developer declares that they:
- Are not a Politically Exposed Person (PEP);
- Are not involved in terrorist activities and do not appear on any sanctions list;
- Have not provided false or misleading information when using the platform.
7. Acceptance of Terms
By accepting a bounty via the platform of OS-SCi, the developer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these terms.
These Terms and Conditions are governed exclusively by Dutch law.
