About the Role 

Are you passionate about fostering inclusive environments where everyone can thrive? OpenSource Science (OS-SCi) is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Freelance Neurodiversity Life & Career Coach to support our students. This is a vital role focused on empowering neurodivergent individuals to succeed in their studies and launch their careers in tech.

Unlike our technical roles, your focus is on the student's well-being and professional development. You will function as a dedicated coach, helping students develop personalized learning strategies, build confidence, and navigate the transition from the classroom to the workplace by leveraging their unique strengths.

What You'll Do

  • Provide one-on-one coaching to neurodivergent students, focusing on executive functioning, time management, and study skills.
  • Offer career guidance tailored to the strengths and needs of each individual, including resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace navigation.
  • Act as an advocate and liaison, working with technical instructors to ensure an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all.
  • Help students build self-advocacy skills and connect them with relevant resources.

What We're Looking For

  • A professional background in life coaching, career counseling, social work, or psychology with a clear specialization in neurodiversity (Autism, ADHD, etc.).
  • Deep empathy, exceptional listening skills, and the ability to build trust and rapport.
  • Experience creating and implementing personalized development and learning strategies.
  • An understanding of the challenges and opportunities for neurodivergent individuals in the tech industry.

Bonus Points For:

  • Lived experience with neurodiversity.
  • Formal coaching certifications (e.g., from ICF).
  • Experience working within a tech company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) program.
