The Data Driven collapse of the proprietary world. What do I mean with this? Since the seventies and eighties of the last century, organizations are building on their IT landscape. Often there was no architecture present. No application architecture, no data architecture, resulting in a hairball architecture. Nobody knows how the systems and data are connected. No golden record, No single point of truth. When companies want to become Data Driven, they need to understand how their data is connected. To do this you need data models from the applications you are using. Ever tried to get data models from proprietary software? Right, you won't get them. How can you then become Data Driven, if you don't have the data models? Well not ... the solution is changing to #FOSS (Free and Open Source Software), because with FOSS you have the Data Models you need, to become a data driven organization.
