In today’s digital era, IT drives economic growth, yet rural areas often lack access. Open-source technologies like Linux and Odoo offer cost-effective learning paths to bridge this gap. By integrating open-source IT education, rural communities can unlock new job markets. With time investment per student for 2.5 to 3 months and right blend of self paced online lessons, contact master classes along with practical assignment based earning and a train the trainer model approach. We will have an exam at the end of each course for evaluations.

Upon passing the student is awarded a certificate from OpenSource Science, Netherlands.

For students who take up these course further, OpenSource Science will give live projects and possible free or paid internships, Also an internship office, to assist and help students to find internships and connect with open source project communities.

The three unique courses selected for this FOSS junior program are

1) Open-Source Science Best practices

The student learns the basic best practices of Open Source technology, like the history of open source, open source licensing and versioning in a repository with Git. The learners are taught to access free, collaborative resources for IT solutions also by engaging with open-source projects, students can develop problem-solving skills and contribute to global innovation.

2) Linux I :

With over 90% of cloud infrastructure running on Linux, its demand is rising. Free access to Linux helps rural students develop skills in system administration expected to grow by 22% by 2030.

This course consists of all the goals from the Linux Professional Institute LPIC-I exam. Linux is the primary operating system in the world of Cloud, datacenters and supercomputing.

3) Odoo Functional User :

Odoo, a leading open-source ERP with 7 million users, simplifies business processes. This course we cover how Odoo’s functional aspects enables careers in ERP usage,data management, support vital for companies running their operations.
